Senior Pastor...Alan Ray

Alan Ray was ordained to the gospel ministry in December of 1980 by the Bethany Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky. He has served as pastor of churches in Boston, Kentucky, Batesburg, South Carolina, Chesterfield, South Carolina and Chatsworth, Georgia. Prior to coming to Ridge Baptist Church, he was pastor of Middle River Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland.

Alan is a native of South Carolina. His father, Dan Ray is now retired after serving as a Southern Baptist pastor, Director of Associational Missions and on the state convention staff in Pennsylvania/South Jersey and in South Carolina. His mother, Martha Ray is a retired school teacher.

Alan is married to the former Melinda Hope of Ashland, Virginia. They are the proud parents of Jennifer Blevins, a fith grade teacher at Mountain Christian School in Maryland, and Lindsay, who is a student at Christopher Newport University.

He is a graduate of Furman University, in Greenville, South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion. He also holds a Master of Divinity degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.
